“If a company is an entity, culture is the personality.”
This document is a summary of our culture handbook, which will include thoughts and reasoning behind these pillars and principles.
Pirates & Romantics 🏴☠️❤️
Some storm through walls to make things happen, others carry the fire of making things matter. We call it Pirates & Romantics.
- The Pirates are scrappy builders. Pirates take risks and measure success in very practical ways, like by the ground they conquer. Pirate-like personalities bring a competitive advantage; they tend to feel calmer under chaos.
- The Romantics are vision-driven believers who keep the long-term mission alive, even when the path is not practical. Romantics speak with conviction, inspire others, and remind the team that we were not just building a company, we’re building a legacy and accomplishing our dreams.
Together, Pirates make things happen. Romantics make them matter, and often better.
Without one, the ship tilts off balance. Not enough Romantic and nothing meaningful is built. Not enough pirate and we may never reach land.
Our pillars and principles are designed to let Pirates and Romantics thrive side by side. Every Keeper is both a Pirate and a Romantic to some degree.
Why is culture a strategic priority at Keepers?
- Helps future members self-select in or out.
- Drives well-being, effectiveness, resilience, and decision-making.
- Aligns with our remote-first mission and vision.
Values
- Teamwork: We prioritize our team and our team-oriented culture. Whether we walk as champions or losers will be directly and strongly linked to our ability to work exceptionally well with each person involved in this mission (teamwork).
- Transparency: Transparency
